2026 Mileage Rates

Effective January 1, 2026, mileage rates for the business use of a gasoline, diesel-powered, fully electric or hybrid automobile such as a car, van, pickup or panel truck will be as follows:

Mileage Rate for Business Use

Mileage rates that were decreased include mileage for medical purposes and moving purposes for certain active-duty members of the Armed Forces and certain members of the intelligence community.

Mileage Rate for Medical or Moving Purposes

  • 20.5 cents per mile driven for medical purposes, down a half cent from 2025.
  • 20.5 cents per mile driven for moving purposes for certain active-duty members of the Armed Forces (and now certain members of the intelligence community), reduced by a half cent from last year.

Mileage Rate for Charitable Organizations

The rate for using your vehicle for charitable services remains the same as 2025.

  • 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations, equal to the rate in 2025.

If you did not update these rates on your mileage reports or other reports for your business or personal use, please be certain make the necessary adjustments.
