City of Philadelphia Wage Tax Reduction Effective July 1, 2008
The Philadelphia wage tax rate for taxable compensation has been reduced for residents and non-residents of Philadelphia. The new rate, effective for compensation paid on or after July 1, 2008, for residents of the city is 3.98% and the new rate for non-residents is 3.5392%. The wage tax is withheld and remitted at the rate that is in effect at the time of the paycheck.
