John F. Maloney, CPA, CFF, CVA Addresses

National Electrical Contractors Association on

the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009

Horsham, PA - June, 2009 - On May 29, John F. Maloney, CPA, CFF, CVA presented to the Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) at the Crowne Plaza in King of Prussia. Maloney spoke on the effects of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act on the contracting industry.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) is a $787 billion stimulus package signed into law in February. Over $280 billion of tax relief is included, and will affect businesses, individuals, school districts, and governments. Mr. Maloney addressed provisions such as the extension of first year bonus depreciation, equipment expense election, and temporary reduction of built-in gains for S corporations, and their specific effects on the electrical contracting industry. In addition to Mr. Maloney, Michael Oscar, Executive Director of Senator Arlen Specter's office, and State Representative Tim Briggs addressed the group.

"I am happy for the opportunity to speak to a group like the NECA," says Maloney. "This stimulus package is very complex, and includes conditions that could affect the electrical contracting industry greatly. The NECA is providing a great benefit to its members by offering education on this and other current events."
