IRS To Develop 2018 Withholding Guidance

The IRS is working to develop withholding guidance that considers the newly enacted tax rates under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. It is expected that guidance will be released by February and will be designed to work with the existing Form W-4 (Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate) that employees have already filed.

Employers should continue to use the existing 2017 withholding tables until new guidance is issued.
